- When in doubt, choose professional dry cleaning
- Wash dark and light colors separately
- Avoid direct heat and prolonged sunlight
- Store on padded hangers for structured pieces, folded for knits
Fabric-Specific Care
Faux Leather (PU)
Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth. Do not machine wash, bleach, or tumble dry. Store hanging away from direct heat and sunlight. Avoid folding or creasing for extended periods — the creases can become permanent.
Satin & Pleated Styles
Professional dry cleaning is recommended. Store hanging to maintain the drape and pleats. Avoid contact with sharp accessories that may snag. Steam lightly from the reverse if needed — never iron directly on the right side.
Mesh & Sheer Fabrics
Gentle hand wash in cold water. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Dry flat. Keep mesh pieces away from jewelry, velcro, and rough surfaces that could snag or tear the delicate fabric.
Velvet
Professional dry clean only. Do not iron velvet directly — steam lightly from the reverse if needed to refresh the pile. Store on a padded hanger and avoid crushing the nap.
Jacquard & Brocade
Professional dry clean only. Protect the fabric from snagging — jewelry, sharp edges, and rough surfaces can pull threads. Store on a padded hanger.
Metallic Fabrics
Hand wash cold separately. Do not bleach, wring, or tumble dry. Dry flat in shade. Do not iron the metallic coating directly — use a press cloth or steam from the reverse.
Knit & Fuzzy Knit
Hand wash cold with mild detergent. Do not wring or tumble dry — this can stretch out the shape. Reshape while damp and dry flat. Store folded, not hanging, to prevent stretching.
Lace
Hand wash cold or use a mesh laundry bag on the delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry. Handle gently — lace is delicate and can snag easily. Steam to reshape if needed.
Denim
Wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors. Turn inside out to preserve color. Line dry to maintain shape and prevent shrinkage. Expect slight color transfer with the first few wears — this is normal.
Cotton & Jersey
Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry on low or lay flat to dry. Iron on medium heat if needed.
Wave-Texture & Stretch Wovens
Gentle hand wash cold in a laundry bag. Do not bleach, wring, or tumble dry. Dry flat. Protect the textured surface from rough surfaces and jewelry that could catch.
Wool Blends & Tailored Pieces
Professional dry cleaning is recommended. Store hanging and use low steam from the reverse without pressing directly on the fabric.
Storage Tips
- Structured pieces (dresses, jackets, skirts): hang on padded hangers
- Knitwear and soft pieces: fold and store flat
- Allow garments to breathe — don't pack too tightly
- Use cedar or lavender to keep moths away
- Fasten zippers and hooks before storing to prevent snags
